DEEP CYCLE BATTERIES FOR OFF GRID POWER SYSTEMS
ROLLS, VICTRON, SONNENSCHEIN AND MASTERVOLT DEEP CYCLE BATTERIES
Welcome to Bright Green Energy Ltd, the UK supplier of everything solar powered and wind powered. We are official distributors of a wide range of AGM, GEL and LEAD ACID deep cycle batteries for use with all types of off grid and grid connected solar and wind power systems.
All batteries are genuine and from leading battery manufacturers. Please refer to the full list below.
Batteries are the key component in solar and wind powered energy systems. They can be used as the main source of power in stand-alone (off grid) energy systems or providing backup power in grid connected systems when the electricity supply fails.
Battery Types: GEL, AGM and Flooded Wet Lead Acid
Battery Voltages: 2V, 4V, 6V and 12V batteries available.

VRLA Deep Cycle Gel Batteries Wide range from small to large Ah ratings. |
Batteries require proper maintenance and can fail prematurely if not well looked after. Deciding on the "best" battery for your requirements requires careful consideration. The most important aspect of buying any battery is its DEPTH OF CHARGING CYCLE.
There are two main types of battery: SHALLOW CYCLE and DEEP CYCLE batteries.
SHALLOW CYCLE BATTERIES are typically car batteries. These batteries are designed to provide a very high current for a short period of time; such as starting your car. However, they cannot withstand repeated deep discharging - below 20% - and therefore are not suitable for use with solar PV systems.
DEEP CYCLE BATTERIES are designed to be repeatedly charged and discharged by as much as 80%. Having said that, if these batteries are shallow cycled - not discharged below 50% of capacity - then they will have an even longer life.
A typical Lead Acid battery contains liquid acid in cells that are NOT SEALED. They can be prone to leaks. AGM and GEL batteries are known as SEALED Lead Acid batteries. Thus, both AGM and GEL batteries are virtually maintenance free.
The size of a battery bank is determined by the storage capacity required. Battery capacity is determined by the amount of electrical energy the battery can deliver over a certain period of time and is measured in Ampere hours (Ah) when discharged at a uniform rate over a given period of time.
